About Claire
Claire Forrest was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. Her family relocated to the Highlands of Scotland when she was seven. She returned to the United States as an exchange student and finished high school in Iowa. Claire also lived in Portland, Oregon, and Biloxi, Mississippi before moving to the Boston area in 2000.
Claire's parents have been the biggest influence in her life. As a child Claire was lucky enough to join her mother (artist Mary-Pat Forrest) and many other local artists as they displayed their artwork in the French Quarter in New Orleans.
Although Claire mostly uses her own photographs as a reference for her artwork, she also draws inspiration from the photographs her late father, Tony, took throughout his lifetime. Claire has a Bachelor of Liberal Arts from Lesley University.
Claire has shown her work in solo exhibits as well as participated in a number of art shows. She is a proud member of the Colored Pencil Society of America and the UK Colored Pencil Society.
